Day 10 | Who Told You That?
Let’s go deeper into the thought from today’s devotional, “Who do you think you are?” Proverbs 23:7 reveals the truth of “as we think in our heart, so are we.” If I think I am influential, then I am. If I think I am the blessed one, then I am. If I think I am stupid, then I am. Genesis 3:11 says “Who told you that you were naked?” One of the ways that God has brought me out of some major lies is by using the phrase, “Who told you that?” I would say something like, “I don’t have the gift of healing.” Then I would hear, “Who told you that?” As I considered the question, I would realize that I was calling myself by my past instead of who God says I am. I had majorly concluded that I was who my past said I am rather than who God said I am. I believe that our perpetual agreement with past experience creates the biggest strongholds that block the purposes of God in our lives. This creation of our identities from our past causes us to think wrong and be restricted in our life experience. So, I release the phrase, “Who told you that?” over your lives as you consider who you are. Also, I believe you are receiving grace right now to demolish this negative stronghold that you are who your past says you are. Amen and amen.
Let’s just laugh at this lie: “ I’ll never know who I am in God.” Hahaha!!
A suggestion to do this fast successfully – Don’t be discouraged if you don’t do this fast perfectly, but believe you are on your way to higher beliefs – which you are.
