1. PROSPERITY IS MEASURED BY HOW MUCH I BLESS, NOT HOW MUCH I POSSESS.
One of the biggest problems that people have with any teaching on prosperity is thinking that prosperity is selfish. Prosperity isn’t selfish. Prosperity isn’t all about you. For the Christian, the motivation for prosperity is about desiring to have the resources to bless others and accomplish what God has called you to do. It isn’t about indulging every greed or desire.Real prosperity is defined by how much we give away, not by how much we keep for ourselves.
2. FINANCIAL PRESSURE IS AN INVITATION TO AN ADVENTURE WITH GOD.
When finances get tough, some people withhold and get fearful. When you do that, you put yourself in charge of your finances and limit God’s involvement. Fear is faith in the devil. When a difficulty comes, we need to put ourselves even more firmly in the hands of God. It is time to believe the Bible and trust.God is teaching us how to trust Him during these times. What if we made trusting Him the most enjoyable thing ever?If someone asks, “How are your finances?”You can reply, “They are a bit sticky right now, but I am on an adventure with God. I can’t wait to see Who He is going to be for me. I’ve put my finances in His hands and I am just going to have fun with the whole thing.
3. GOD IS THE OWNER, I AM HIS MONEY MANAGER.
Until you recognize that “God is the Owner, I am His money manger,” nothing else the Bible says about finances will work for you. As long as you are holding on to your money with a clenched fist and have the priority of your finances on yourself, God’s method of prosperity won’t work for you. You have to change your mindset to recognize that God is the Source of everything you own, and you are the steward of those financial blessings He has given you.
4. I MUST RENOUNCE THE SPIRIT OF MAMMON.
“You cannot serve God and the mammon (Matthew6:24). Mammon is not the money, but a demonic principality working to abuse money. . The Bible does not say you can’t have money. It says don't serve that principality. The resources of this world are here for Kingdom purposes. Mammon tries to get you to find your security, identity, and trust in money—when we are supposed to get it from God Himself.
5. RECESSION IS A GREAT TIME TO BE ALIVE.
The truth is, only God has abundance. The enemy has a budget. Does the enemy have any access to heaven’s abundance? Think about it: the only place in the universe that owns everything, and the enemy doesn’t have any access to it.What if this whole recession is because the enemy is running out of cash? What if he can no longer afford his plans for world domination? Believers have a promise that says that the wealth of the wicked will be transferred to the righteous. So, not only is he in a recession, but we are planning to rob him blind.God is looking for people who have been faithful with what they have. This qualifies them to handle more.
