"Words to Ignite Your Faith and Hope" By Steve Backlund
“The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10). Every testimony we hear has a prophetic spirit for it to happen to us as well. The best testimonies of the goodness and power are in the Bible.
I want to do an experiment with you concerning some of my favorite biblical testimonies. I am going to prophesy to you using what happened to them as a word for what will happen to you. I believe if God did it for them, He also wants to do it for you.
As you read this blog prayerfully, let the Spirit of God speak to you in profound ways.
Here we go:
Just as Abraham left the familiar and followed God’s leading (not knowing where he was going), you are in a season of incredible courage and faith to leave the old and set out on a journey to an unknown destination that will have unbelievable influence on the generations to come. (Genesis 12)
Just as Noah built an ark for 100 years to prepare a place of safety for his family and God’s creation, you are building something that will save your family and more. (Genesis 6 - 8)
Just as Jacob wrestled with the angel and received revelation of who he truly was, right now you are receiving grace to defeat self-limiting beliefs about yourself and it will propel you into greater victory, stronger relationships and increased influence. (Genesis 32)
Just as Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness and it looked like his best days were behind him, but actually his life purpose would suddenly unfold, you too in your latter years will suddenly be propelled into bringing great deliverance to God’s people. (The Book of Exodus)
Just as Saul of Tarsus had an encounter as he was heading headlong in the wrong direction, unlikely people in your family and region are being dramatically saved and will powerfully advance God’s kingdom. (Acts 9)
Just as Peter seized the moment when Jesus was walking on the water to walk on the water himself, you will seize opportunities to do what no person has ever done before. (Matthew 14)
Just as a young prophet named Isaiah had an encounter that led to a 2,700-year influence for God, the Lord is supernaturally releasing young prophets now who will influence kings and help establish massive revival. (Isaiah 6 and many other passages)
Just as Ruth who was working in the field became the co-owner of the field, you are in a season where the Lord will promote you suddenly into positions that will surprise you and those who know you. (The Book of Ruth)
Just as David brought down a giant on a day when he was simply taking lunch to his brothers, you too will have your life suddenly changed by an unsuspecting victory you bring to people who have been bound by fear. (1 Samuel 17)
Just as Philip who was assigned to be a deacon to wait on tables but also brought revival to Samaria, you too will far exceed your job description and bring revival to a city. (Acts 6 and 8)
If we are going to experience something higher, we need to believe something higher. If we are going to believe something higher, we need to hear something higher than what we are feeling and experiencing.
The above testimonies are prophecies to you to believe something higher. God has not put a limit on your life, so I bless you as you grab hold of these words to unlock a greater revelation of who you are, like never before.
