There is Always a Solution

There is Always a Solution

By Steve Backlund

One of my favorite beliefs and declarations is this: There is always a solution.

People of hope will see solutions in situations where other people do not. Those who have hope will have their heads up to see what is ahead, while those without hope will have their eyes downcast and miss what is available to them (this is true both in the natural and spiritual).

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able,
but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). There is “a way of escape” (solution) for every temptation we face. (The Greek word for temptation could also be translated as testing or trial).

James 1:2-5 tells us God will give us wisdom concerning “various trials”. This wisdom is a solution for how to think and what to do.

The Bible is full of solutions in seemingly hopeless situations, even when it looks like there are none. Here are a few examples:

  • The Red Sea parted when it looked hopeless (Exodus 14)
  • God had a plan to defeat Goliath that no one was aware of (1 Samuel 17)
  • Bitter waters were made surprisingly sweet by the unusual solution of throwing a tree into them (Exodus 15)
  • Jesus multiplied food when the disciples thought there were no solutions for feeding the multitudes (Mark 6)
  • A long-lasting drought ended through the prayers of one person (1 Kings 18)
  • A little oil created supernatural debt cancellation (2 Kings 4)
  • Money needed to pay taxes was found in the unusual location of a fish's mouth (Matthew 17)

When we factor in the supernatural nature of God, the kinds of solutions we will experience defy logic. We are not called to be realistic; we are called to be supernatural.

Research has shown that if the brain does not believe there is a solution, it won’t look for one; but if it believes there is a solution, it will find one. Could it be that our belief there is no solution is a bigger problem than the problem?

Let’s get practical -

  • You could be a million dollars in debt - there is a solution
  • Your family could be in a major crisis - there is a solution
  • You could have been let go of your job - there is a solution
  • You could be battling addictive behaviors - there is a solution
  • The printer just broke down - there is a solution
  • You are concerned about your nation - there is a solution

Let’s stir up the truth in our hearts and minds that there is always a solution. Consider an area in your life right now where it looks like there is no solution, and say, “There is a powerful solution for this situation that will manifest soon.”
